ReRoute was established in 2023 in response to the growing complexity of youth violence, grievance-fuelled offending, online radicalisation and anti-social behaviour within Australia, particularly within the state of Victoria. ReRoute was developed with the focus of addressing the current service gaps for many individuals at risk of engaging with such behaviours through providing programs focused on the individual rather than just the behaviours.

ReRoute looks to assist members of the community to disengage from radicalisation or anti social networks through,

  • reducing pathways into violence, extremist behaviour and anti-social offending;

  • providing accessible early intervention support prior to criminal escalation;

  • supporting disengagement from extremist and violent peer networks;

  • strengthening protective factors including education, employment, identity, belonging, and community connection; and

  • upskilling existing third party and community service providers through education and training programs.

ReRoute's aim is to counter the growing spread of violence and influence of extremist/anti-social ideologies across Victoria through equipping individuals with the tools, relationships and opportunities needed to build connected and purposeful lives without violence and hate.

Our Team

ReRoute operates through a multidisciplinary organisational structure, which is designed to support its core deliverables, including forensic intervention, case management, mentoring, education, consultation, community engagement and organisational governance functions.

ReRoute brings together over 20 years of experience in the Forensic Intervention and Community Service sectors, as well as individuals with first hand lived experience living with and disengaging from violence and hate.

Our Philosophy

  • addressing online radicalisation pathways;

  • capacity-building for schools, professionals, and community organisations;

  • family and partner support programs;

  • community education and prevention initiatives; and
